APALA | blue /black

The APALA is our version of the classic tote bag: very simple, sewn from a single piece of
fabric, and featuring a single shoulder strap.
An elastic drawstring closes the deep bag at the top so that nothing falls out. It has two
pockets on the outside, three small pockets on the inside, and a snap hook for your keys.
At first glance, the APALA looks quite small, but it holds a surprising amount. It is made of
water-repellent organic cotton, with a small logo made of vegetable-tanned leather. Each
APALA is sewn in our studio in Berlin.

Inside there are three small pockets and a snap hook for keys. On the outside, the bag has
two additional pockets.

MATERIAL & CARE 

Organic cotton
The organic cotton is a triple-twisted Panama weave, woven and dyed in Germany and Italy.
Originally, this fabric was developed for workwear. It is correspondingly robust and
abrasion-resistant while still feeling pleasantly soft. It is impregnated with a PFC-free C0
finish, which causes rain to bead off and is completely free of harmful chemicals.
Care: It is best to brush off loose dirt while dry first. You can also simply shake out dust, as
you would with a pillow. Small stains can usually be removed with a slightly damp
microfiber cloth, preferably without soap. For a more thorough cleaning, work some mild
soapy water (a mild shampoo or wool detergent works well) into the fabric with a soft brush
and then wipe it down with clear water afterwards. This ensures no soap residue remains in the
fabric, which could otherwise leave marks. Dab the bag dry with a towel and let it air dry,
keeping some distance from heaters and direct heat.

Vegetable-tanned leather
The logo is made of vegetable-tanned leather from Belgium and develops a beautiful patina
over time.
Care: Wipe the leather with a slightly damp cloth to remove surface dirt. You can even out
water spots or dry areas by rubbing the damp cloth over the spot and the area around it.
About once a year, the leather appreciates natural, colorless leather wax or oil to nourish and
protect it. Be careful that none of it gets on the fabric, as it can leave stains.

Hardware
The snap hook is made of aluminum and requires no special care.
Natural materials change over time. Colors may darken slightly or soften, and that is exactly
what shows what your bag is made of.
