BABY IKASI | limoncello

The BABY IKASI is our backpack for little explorers of kindergarten age. It is compact and lightweight and designed to fit well on a small back.

On the front, there are two contrasting outer pockets for everything that needs to be close at hand: a tissue, the prettiest stone from the playground, or a favorite toy car. The flap closes with a magnetic FIDLOCK buckle, and underneath, a drawstring keeps everything secure. Inside, there is a small pocket for treasures and a snap hook to keep keys safe.

The BABY IKASI is made from water-repellent organic cotton, with a padded wool felt back. We have reinforced the side seams with vegetable-tanned leather. This ensures the backpack can withstand how four-year-olds treat their things: sometimes dragged behind them, sometimes tossed into a corner with abandon.

Inside and out

Carrying comfort
The back panel is padded with wool felt. It makes the backpack pleasantly soft against the back and gives it its shape.
Closure

The flap closes with a magnetic FIDLOCK buckle; underneath, a drawstring provides additional security for the contents.

MATERIAL & CARE

Organic Cotton
The organic cotton is a triple-twisted panama weave, woven and dyed in Germany and Italy. This fabric was originally developed for workwear. It is correspondingly robust and abrasion-resistant while still feeling pleasantly soft. It is treated with a PFC-free C0 finish that makes rain bead off and contains no harmful chemicals.
Care: It is best to brush off loose dirt while dry. You can also simply shake out dust, just like a cushion. Small stains can usually be removed with a slightly damp microfiber cloth, ideally without any soap. For a more thorough cleaning, work some mild soapy water (a mild shampoo or wool detergent works well) into the fabric with a soft brush and then wipe clean with clear water. This prevents soap residue from remaining in the fabric, which could otherwise leave marks. Dab the bag dry with a towel and let it air dry, keeping it away from heaters or direct heat.

Wool felt
The padded back panel is made of wool felt from Italy, consisting of 75% recycled wool from New Zealand and 25% polyester. It is breathable, regulates heat and cooling, and gives the small backpack support.
Care: The felt is protected on the inside and does not require any special care. If something does spill, dab the area with a damp cloth and let the bag air dry while open.

Vegetable-tanned leather
The side seams are reinforced with vegetable-tanned Italian leather, in areas where the backpack is subjected to the most wear. Over time, the leather will develop a patina that deepens through touch, light, and use.
Care: Wipe the leather with a slightly damp cloth to remove surface dirt. You can even out water spots or dry areas by rubbing the damp cloth over the spot and the surrounding area. About once a year, the leather will appreciate a natural, colorless leather wax or oil to nourish and protect it. Be careful not to get any on the fabric, as it can leave stains there.

Hardware
The magnetic buckle is from FIDLOCK, and the snap hook is made of aluminum. Both require no special care.

Natural materials change over time. Colors may darken slightly or become softer, and that is precisely what shows what your bag is made of.
