BABY IKASI | RABY / belle shell

For this limited edition of the BABY IKASI, Berlin-based designer Raby-Florence Fofana has
designed the print. Her abstract compositions and patterns have accompanied us through several
collaborations, and they look particularly cheerful on this small backpack. Because the print
falls a little differently on each backpack when cut, every single one is unique.

It is built just like our BABY IKASI: compact, lightweight, and suitable for a small back, with
two contrasting outer pockets, a magnetic closure, and a drawstring. The fabric is different:
It is woven in Portugal from SEAQUAL INITIATIVE yarn, which is obtained from plastic recovered
from the ocean. The padded back is made of recycled PET felt, and the side seams are edged
with vegetable-tanned leather.

Inside and out
On the front, there are two contrasting outer pockets for items that need to be quickly
accessible. Inside you will find a small compartment for treasures and a snap hook for your
keys.

Comfort
The back panel is padded with recycled PET felt. It makes the backpack pleasantly soft
against the back and gives it its shape.
Closure
The flap closes with a magnetic FIDLOCK buckle, while a drawstring underneath provides
additional security for the contents.

MATERIAL & CARE 

Recycled Polyester
The fabric is woven in Portugal from SEAQUAL INITIATIVE yarn. Plastic from the ocean is
collected, cleaned, and spun into new yarn for this purpose. The fabric is water-repellent
and robust.
Care: Brush off loose dirt when dry and remove small stains with a damp microfiber cloth.
For a more thorough cleaning, treat the fabric with a soft brush, water, and a little mild
soap, then rinse with clear water. Be careful to keep the leather edges dry. Pat the fabric
dry with a towel and let it air dry, away from radiators or direct heat.

Recycled PET felt
The padded back panel is made of 100% recycled PET felt from Italy. The felt is dense and
sturdy, giving the backpack its shape while remaining lightweight.
Care: The felt is protected on the inside and requires no special care. Should something
ever spill, pat the area with a damp cloth and leave the bag open to air dry.

Vegetable-tanned leather
The side seams are edged with vegetable-tanned leather from Italy, in the areas where the
backpack is subject to the most wear. Over time, the leather develops a patina that becomes
deeper through touch, light, and use.
Care: Wipe the leather with a slightly damp cloth to remove surface dirt. You can even out
water spots or dry areas by rubbing the damp cloth over the spot and the surrounding
area. About once a year, the leather appreciates a natural, colorless leather wax or oil to
nourish and protect it. Make sure that none of it gets on the fabric, as it can cause stains.

Hardware
The magnetic closure is by FIDLOCK, and the snap hook is made of aluminum. Both require
no special care.
Natural materials change over time. Colors may darken slightly or soften, and that is exactly
where the character of your bag shows.
