BABY IKASI | violetta

For this limited edition of the BABY IKASI, Berlin-based designer Raby-Florence Fofana has
created the print. Her abstract compositions and patterns have accompanied us through several
collaborations, and they look particularly cheerful on this small backpack. Because the print
falls a little differently on every backpack when cut, each individual piece is unique.

It is built exactly like our BABY IKASI: compact, light, and suitable for a small back, with two
contrasting outer pockets, a magnetic closure, and a drawstring. The fabric is different:
it is woven in Portugal from SEAQUAL® INITIATIVE yarn, which is made from plastic recovered
from the ocean. The padded back is made of recycled PET felt, and the side seams are trimmed
with vegetable-tanned leather.

Inside and out
On the front, there are two contrasting outer pockets for items you need quick access to.
Inside, you will find a small compartment for treasures and a snap hook for your keys.

Carrying comfort
The back panel is padded with recycled PET felt. It makes the backpack pleasantly soft
against the back and gives it its shape.
Closure
The flap closes with a magnetic FIDLOCK buckle, while a drawstring provides additional
security for the contents underneath.

MATERIAL & CARE 

Recycled Polyester
The fabric is woven in Portugal from SEAQUAL® INITIATIVE yarn. For this, plastic is collected
from the sea, cleaned, and spun into new yarn. The fabric is water-repellent and robust.
Care: Brush off loose dirt when dry and remove small stains with a damp microfiber
cloth. For a more thorough cleaning, treat the fabric with a soft brush, water, and some
mild soap, then rinse with clear water. Make sure that the leather edges remain dry.
Pat the fabric dry with a towel and let it air dry, keeping it away from heaters and
direct heat.

Recycled PET felt
The padded back panel is made from 100% recycled PET felt from Italy. The felt is dense
and stable, gives the backpack its shape, and remains lightweight.
Care: The felt sits protected on the inside and does not require any special care. If
something does spill, dab the area with a damp cloth and leave the bag open to air dry.

Vegetable-tanned leather
The side seams are trimmed with vegetable-tanned leather from Italy, in areas where the
backpack is subjected to the most stress. Over time, the leather develops a patina that
becomes deeper through touch, light, and use.
Care: Wipe the leather with a slightly damp cloth to remove surface dirt. Balance out
water spots or dry areas by rubbing the damp cloth over the spot and the surrounding
area. About once a year, the leather appreciates a natural, colorless leather wax or oil
to nourish and protect it. Make sure none of it gets onto the fabric, as it can leave stains.

Fittings
The magnetic closure is from FIDLOCK, the snap hook is made of aluminum. Neither needs
any special care.
Natural materials change over time. Colors may darken slightly or soften, and this is
precisely what shows what your bag is made of.
