ESKOLA School Bag | DL - green // Limited Edition

For this limited edition of the ESKOLA, artist and animation director David Lüpschen has designed a unique print. In his work, he plays with color, form, and movement, and it is precisely this joy that the bag now carries along to school. Because the print falls a little differently on every bag during cutting, each one is unique.

On the inside, everything is just as you know it from our ESKOLA: three well-thought-out compartments, a padded back, reflective piping, and the magnetic FIDLOCK fasteners that can be opened with a single pull. What’s different is the fabric: It is woven in Portugal from SEAQUAL INITIATIVE yarn, which is made from plastic recovered from the ocean. Inside, recycled PET felt gives the bag its shape, and the edges and base are reinforced with vegetable-tanned leather, as always. Each bag is sewn in our studio in Berlin.

Interior
The interior is divided into three compartments. The rear compartment sits directly against the back, so the weight of books and notebooks is carried close to the body. This compartment is also made of water-repellent organic cotton, providing extra protection for notebooks and books. The main compartment offers space for a pencil case, lunch box, and water bottle. In the front, there is a dedicated compartment for smaller items so that they remain protected and easy to find.
Inside the flap is a zippered pocket for personal items. A snap hook holds keys, and a webbing loop keeps the water bottle upright so that nothing tips over or leaks.

Carrying comfort and visibility
The back panel and shoulder straps are padded, and the straps are adjustable in length. This ensures the ESKOLA is comfortable to wear throughout the school day. Reflective piping on the edges and on the front leather trim ensures that your child is clearly visible on dark winter mornings and afternoons.

Closure
The magnetic FIDLOCK fasteners open with a simple downward pull and snap shut almost by themselves when closing. Even small hands can manage this without any help.

Chest strap
The ESKOLA sits so well on the back that most children do not need a chest strap. If you would still like one, you can simply order it, and we will sew it directly onto the bag.

MATERIAL & CARE

Recycled Polyester
The fabric is woven in Portugal from SEAQUAL INITIATIVE yarn. For this process, plastic is collected from the ocean, cleaned, and spun into new yarn. The fabric is water-repellent and robust.
Care: Brush off loose dirt when dry and remove small stains with a damp microfiber cloth. For a more thorough cleaning, treat the fabric with a soft brush, water, and some mild soap, then rinse with clear water. Make sure to keep the leather edges dry. Pat the fabric dry with a towel and let it air dry, away from radiators and direct heat.

Recycled PET felt
The inner lining is made of 100% recycled PET felt from Italy. The felt is dense and sturdy, giving the bag its shape while remaining lightweight.
Care: The felt is protected on the inside and requires no special care. Should something spill, dab the area with a damp cloth and let the bag air dry while left open.

Vegetable-tanned leather
The edges and base are reinforced with vegetable-tanned leather from Italy. It protects the areas that experience the most wear during daily school life and develops a patina over time that becomes deeper through touch, light, and use.
Care: Wipe the leather with a slightly damp cloth to remove surface dirt. You can even out water stains or dry areas by rubbing the damp cloth over the spot and the surrounding surface. About once a year, the leather will benefit from a natural, colorless leather wax or oil to nourish and protect it. Ensure that none of this gets onto the fabric, as it may leave stains.

Hardware
The magnetic fasteners are from FIDLOCK, while the sliders and snap hooks are made of aluminum. They do not require any special care.

Natural materials change over time. Colors may darken slightly or soften, and it is precisely this that shows what your bag is made of.
