The IKASI is the big brother of our BABY IKASI, made for older school children and adults. It has the same clean shape and enough space for everything a full day requires.
On the front are two outer pockets for the things you want to have quickly at hand. The flap closes with a magnetic FIDLOCK fastener, underneath which a drawstring keeps the contents secure. Inside, there is a pocket for personal items and a carabiner for your keys.
The IKASI is crafted from water-repellent organic cotton, the padded back from wool felt, and the side seams are edged with vegetable-tanned leather. It is sewn in our studio in Berlin so that it will accompany you for many years.

Inside and out

Carrying comfort
The back panel is padded, and the shoulder straps are adjustable in length. This makes the IKASI comfortable to carry all day long.
Closure
The flap closes with a magnetic G-Hook fastener, which is easily slid into a loop.
MATERIAL & CARE
Organic cotton
The organic cotton is a triple-twisted Panama weave, woven and dyed in Germany and Italy. Originally developed for workwear, this fabric is robust and abrasion-resistant, yet still feels pleasantly soft. It is impregnated with a PFC-free C0 finish that repels rain and contains no harmful chemicals.
Care: It is best to brush off loose dirt while dry. You can also simply tap out dust, like you would with a pillow. Small stains can usually be removed with a slightly damp microfiber cloth, ideally without any soap. For a more thorough cleaning, work some mild soapy water (a mild shampoo or wool detergent works well) into the fabric with a soft brush and then wipe it down with clean water. This ensures no soap residue remains in the fabric, which could otherwise leave marks. Dab the bag dry with a towel and let it air dry, keeping it at a distance from heaters and direct heat.
Wool felt
The padded back panel is made of wool felt from Italy, produced from 75% recycled wool from New Zealand and 25% polyester. It is breathable, balances heat and cold, and gives the backpack its shape.
Care: The felt is protected on the inside and requires no special care. Should something spill, dab the area with a damp cloth and let the bag air dry while open.
Vegetable-tanned leather
The side seams are edged with vegetable-tanned leather from Italy, where the backpack is subject to the most wear. Over time, the leather develops a patina that deepens with touch, light, and use.
Care: Wipe the leather with a slightly damp cloth to remove surface dirt. You can even out water spots or dry areas by rubbing the damp cloth over the spot and the surrounding area. About once a year, the leather appreciates a natural, colorless leather wax or oil to nourish and protect it. Make sure none of it gets onto the fabric, as it can leave stains there.
Fittings
The magnetic fastener is from FIDLOCK, the carabiner is made of aluminum. Both require no special care.
Natural materials change over time. Colors may darken slightly or soften, and that is exactly where you can see what your bag is made of.
