The MERKATUA is our market shopper. It is large enough for your weekly groceries, things for the beach, or a picnic where everything from the blanket to dessert comes along. A paracord drawstring closes the spacious main compartment at the top. On the outside, it has two open pockets: one holds your water bottle, and the other holds the things you want to reach for last. Inside, there is a pocket and a carabiner hook for your keys.
The MERKATUA is crafted from half-linen, a water-repellent blend of linen and organic cotton, with details made of vegetable-tanned leather. It will accompany you to the market, to the beach, and to the park.

MATERIAL & CARE
Half-linen
Half-linen is a blend of linen and organic cotton, woven in Germany. The linen provides natural strength, while the organic cotton offers softness. The fabric is water-repellent, durable, and comfortably lightweight.
Care: First, brush off loose dirt while dry. Remove small stains with a slightly damp microfiber cloth, ideally without any soap. For a more thorough cleaning, work in some mild soapy water (a mild shampoo or wool detergent works well) with a soft brush and then wipe with clean water to ensure no soap residue remains in the fabric. Pat the fabric dry with a towel and let it air dry, away from heaters or direct heat. Please do not machine wash the half-linen.
Vegetable-tanned leather
The details are made of vegetable-tanned leather. Over time, they develop a patina that deepens through touch, light, and use.
Care: Wipe the leather with a slightly damp cloth to remove surface dirt. You can even out water spots or dry areas by rubbing the damp cloth over the spot and the surrounding area. About once a year, the leather appreciates a natural, colorless leather wax or oil to nourish and protect it. Ensure that none of it gets onto the fabric, as it may leave stains there.
Paracord and hardware
The drawstring is made of paracord, the carabiner hook of aluminum. Both require no special care.
Natural materials change over time. Colors may darken slightly or soften, and that is precisely what shows what your bag is made of.
