The MERKATUA is our market shopper. It is large enough for your weekly groceries, things
for the beach, or a picnic where everything from the blanket to the dessert comes along.
A paracord drawstring closes the spacious main compartment at the top. On the outside, it has two open
pockets: one is for your water bottle, and the other holds the items you want to reach for last.
Inside, there is a pocket and a carabiner hook for your keys.

The MERKATUA is crafted from half-linen, a water-repellent blend of linen and
organic cotton, with details made of vegetable-tanned leather. It will accompany you to the market, the
beach, and the park.

MATERIAL & CARE 

Half-linen
Half-linen is a blend of linen and organic cotton, woven in Germany. The
linen provides its natural strength, while the organic cotton offers softness. The fabric is
water-repellent, durable, and comfortably lightweight.
Care: Brush off loose dirt while dry first. Remove small stains with a slightly
damp microfiber cloth, ideally without any soap at all. For a deeper clean, work in some
mild soapy water (a mild shampoo or wool detergent works well) with a soft brush, then
wipe with clear water to ensure no soap residue remains in the fabric. Pat the fabric dry with a towel
and let it air dry, keeping some distance from radiators or direct heat. Please do not wash
the half-linen in the machine.

Vegetable-tanned leather
The details are made of vegetable-tanned leather. Over time, they develop a patina that
becomes deeper through touch, light, and use.
Care: Wipe the leather with a slightly damp cloth to remove surface dirt.
Balance out water spots or dry patches by rubbing the damp cloth over the area and the surrounding surface.
About once a year, the leather appreciates a natural, colorless leather wax or oil to nourish and protect it.
Be careful not to get any on the fabric, as it can leave stains there.

Paracord and hardware
The drawstring is made of paracord, the carabiner hook of aluminum. Neither requires
any special care.

Natural materials change over time. Colors may darken slightly or become softer, and that is precisely what shows what your bag is made of.
