The MERKATUA is our market shopper. It is large enough for your weekly groceries, your things for the beach, or a picnic where everything from the blanket to dessert comes along. The spacious main compartment closes at the top with a paracord drawstring. On the outside, it has two open pockets: one holds your water bottle, and the other is for the things you want to be able to grab at a moment's notice. Inside, there is a pocket and a carabiner hook to attach your keys.

The MERKATUA is made of half-linen, a water-repellent blend of linen and organic cotton, with details made of vegetable-tanned leather. It accompanies you to the market, to the beach, and to the park.

MATERIAL & CARE

Half-linen
Half-linen is a blend of linen and organic cotton, woven in Germany. The linen provides its natural strength, while the organic cotton offers softness. The fabric is water-repellent, durable, and pleasantly lightweight.
Care: First, brush off loose dirt while dry. Remove small stains with a slightly damp microfiber cloth, ideally without any soap at all. For a more thorough cleaning, work in some mild soapy water (a mild shampoo or wool detergent works well) with a soft brush and then wipe with clean water to ensure no soap residue remains in the fabric. Pat the fabric dry with a towel and let it air dry, keeping it away from heaters or direct heat. Please do not machine wash the half-linen.

Vegetable-tanned leather
The details are made of vegetable-tanned leather. Over time, they develop a patina that becomes deeper with touch, light, and use.
Care: Wipe the leather with a slightly damp cloth to remove surface dirt. You can even out water spots or dry areas by rubbing the damp cloth over the spot and the surrounding area. About once a year, the leather appreciates a natural, colorless leather wax or oil to nourish and protect it. Make sure none of it gets on the fabric, as it can leave stains there.

Paracord and hardware
The drawstring is made of paracord, and the carabiner hook is made of aluminum. Both require no special care.

Natural materials change over time. Colors may darken slightly or soften, and that is precisely what shows what your bag is made of.
