ESKOLA | RABY / violetta

For this limited edition of the ESKOLA, Berlin-based designer Raby-Florence Fofana has designed the
print. Her abstract compositions and patterns have accompanied us through several
collaborations, and we are delighted every time one of her designs turns into a bag.
Because the print falls a little differently on each bag during cutting, every single one is
unique.

Inside, everything is just as you know it from our ESKOLA: three well-thought-out compartments, a
padded back, reflective piping, and the magnetic FIDLOCK closures, which can be opened
with a single tug. The fabric is different: It is woven in Portugal from SEAQUAL
INITIATIVE yarn, which is made from plastic recovered from the sea. Inside, recycled
PET felt gives the bag its shape, and as always, the edges and base are reinforced with vegetable-tanned
leather. Each bag is sewn in our studio in Berlin.

Interior
The interior is divided into three compartments. The rear compartment sits directly against the back, so the
weight of books and notebooks is carried close to the body. This compartment is also made of
water-repellent organic cotton and provides extra protection for notebooks and books. The main compartment
has room for a pencil case, lunch box, and water bottle. In the front, there is a dedicated compartment for
smaller items so they are protected and easy to find again.
Inside the flap is a zippered pocket for personal items. A key carabiner hangs inside, and a webbing loop
holds the water bottle upright so nothing tips over or leaks.

Comfort and Visibility
The back panel and shoulder straps are padded, and the straps are adjustable in length.
This ensures the ESKOLA is comfortable to wear throughout the school day. Reflective piping on the edges
and on the leather trim at the front ensures that your child is clearly visible on dark winter mornings and
afternoons.

Closure
The magnetic FIDLOCK closures open with a simple downward tug and
snap shut almost by themselves when closing. Even small hands can do this without any help.

Chest Strap
The ESKOLA sits so well on the back that most children do not need a chest strap.
If you would still like one, you can simply order it as an add-on, and we will sew it directly onto the
bag.

MATERIAL & CARE 

Recycled Polyester
The fabric is woven in Portugal from SEAQUAL INITIATIVE yarn. For this, plastic is collected
from the sea, cleaned, and spun into new yarn. The fabric is water-repellent and
robust.
Care: Brush off loose dirt when dry and remove small stains with a damp
microfiber cloth. For a more thorough cleaning, treat the fabric with a soft
brush, water, and a little mild soap, then rinse with clear water afterwards. Take care
to ensure the leather edges remain dry. Dab the fabric dry with a towel and
let it air dry, keeping some distance from heaters and direct heat.

Recycled PET Felt
The lining is made of 100% recycled PET felt from Italy. The felt is dense and stable, gives
the bag its shape, while remaining lightweight.
Care: The felt sits protected on the inside and requires no special care. If something
should happen to spill, dab the area with a damp cloth and leave the bag
open to air dry.

Vegetable-Tanned Leather
Edges and the base are reinforced with vegetable-tanned leather from Italy. It protects the
areas that take the most wear in daily school life and develops a patina over time,
which becomes deeper through touch, light, and use.
Care: Wipe the leather with a slightly damp cloth to remove surface dirt.
Balance out water spots or dry patches by rubbing the damp cloth over the area and the surface
around it. About once a year, the leather appreciates a natural, colorless leather wax or oil,
which nourishes and protects it. Make sure that none of it gets on the fabric, as it can
leave stains there.

Hardware
The magnetic closures are by FIDLOCK, and the sliders and carabiners are made of aluminum. They
require no special care.

Natural materials change over time. Colors may darken slightly or become softer, and that is precisely
what shows what your bag is made of.
