This MOIRÉ has already had a first life: its fabric was once a cinema banner. Instead of ending up in the trash, the mesh came to our studio, and we sewed it into a shopper. Because every banner was printed differently, each bag features a different piece of the old poster. No two look the same.
The material feels a bit like paper, but is very durable. Over time, it develops fine creases and gentle signs of wear—its very own patina. Like every MOIRÉ, it can do two things: you can carry it in your hand by the leather handles, or on your back with the adjustable straps. Inside, there are three small pockets and a carabiner hook for keys, while snap fasteners close the top edge.

Carrying
You can carry the MOIRÉ in your hand using the two leather handles or as a backpack with the adjustable straps.

MATERIAL & CARE
Upcycled Mesh
This mesh had a first life as a cinema banner. Instead of being discarded, it came to us, and we turned it into a long-lasting bag fabric. It resembles paper in appearance but is very durable and develops fine creases and soft signs of wear over time, its very own patina. Because every banner was printed differently, every bag is unique.
Care: The mesh can join you in the shower. It can be cleaned with water, a little soap, and a soft brush. Just make sure the leather handles remain dry. Afterward, simply let the bag air dry, keeping it away from radiators and direct heat.
Vegetable-tanned leather
The handles are made of vegetable-tanned leather from Belgium. Over time, they become softer and develop a patina that deepens through touch, light, and use.
Care: Wipe the leather with a slightly damp cloth to remove surface dirt. You can even out water spots or dry areas by rubbing the damp cloth over the spot and the surrounding area. About once a year, the leather appreciates a natural, colorless leather wax or oil to nourish and protect it.
Webbing and hardware
The webbing for the adjustable straps comes from Belgium; it is tightly woven and very durable. Snap fasteners keep the top edge closed, and the carabiner hook is made of aluminum.
Care: The webbing and hardware do not require any special care. If necessary, wipe them down with a damp cloth.
Natural materials change over time. Colors may darken slightly or soften, and that is exactly where the quality of your bag’s materials shows.
