The ESKOLA is our school bag, made for the weight and rhythm of a full school
day. Inside, everything has its designated place: heavy books are positioned close to the back,
the lunchbox and water bottle have their own compartment, and there is an extra pocket at the front
for little treasures. At around 850 grams, the ESKOLA is pleasantly lightweight, keeping the walk to
school comfortable even for small shoulders.
Aside from the magnetic closures, thread, and straps, the ESKOLA is made from renewable raw materials: water-repellent organic cotton on the outside, wool felt on the inside, and vegetable-tanned leather on the edges and bottom—exactly where a school bag needs to withstand the most wear and tear. Our goal is to increase this to 100%. Each ESKOLA is sewn in our studio in Berlin and is built to last throughout primary school and then be passed on to younger siblings. Nora originally designed it for her own daughter; today, it is our most well-known piece.

Interior
The interior is divided into three compartments. The back compartment lies directly against the back,
so the weight of books and notebooks is carried close to the body. This compartment is also made of
water-repellent organic cotton, providing extra protection for books and notebooks. The main
compartment has space for a pencil case, lunchbox, and water bottle. There is a separate pocket at the front
for smaller items so they stay protected and are easy to find again.
A zippered pocket for personal items is located in the flap. The keys hang from a carabiner, and a
webbing loop keeps the water bottle upright so nothing tips over or leaks.
Carrying comfort and visibility
The back panel and shoulder straps are padded, and the straps are length-adjustable.
This ensures the ESKOLA remains comfortable all school day long. Reflective piping on the edges
and on the leather trim at the front ensures your child is clearly visible on dark winter mornings and
afternoons.

you can simply order it, and we will sew it directly onto the bag.

MATERIAL & CARE
Organic Cotton
The organic cotton is a triple-twisted Panama weave, woven and dyed in
Germany and Italy. This fabric was originally developed for workwear.
It is appropriately robust and abrasion-resistant, yet feels pleasantly soft.
It is impregnated with a PFC-free C0 finish that lets rain bead off and contains no harmful
chemicals. It is made for everything that a school day brings.
Care: It is best to brush off loose dirt while dry. You can also simply knock dust out,
just like a cushion. Small stains can usually be removed with a slightly
damp microfiber cloth, ideally without any soap at all. For a more thorough
cleaning, work a little mild soapy water (a mild shampoo or wool detergent
works well) into the fabric with a soft brush and then wipe with clear
water. This prevents soap residue from remaining in the fabric, which can otherwise cause rings.
Pat the bag dry with a towel and let it air dry, keeping it away from heaters and direct heat.

and 25% polyester. It gives the bag its shape, cushions the back, and is breathable.
Wool balances heat and cold, keeping things comfortable against the back.
Care: The felt sits protected inside and requires no special care. If something does spill,
dab the spot with a damp cloth and let the bag air dry while open.

Balance out water spots or dry areas by rubbing the damp cloth over the spot and the surrounding area.

to nourish and protect it. Make sure none of this gets on the fabric, as it can leave stains.
