The ESKOLA is our school bag, designed for the weight and rhythm of a full school day. Everything has its own place inside: heavy books sit close to the back, lunch boxes and water bottles have their own compartment, and there is an extra pocket in the front for little treasures. Weighing around 850 grams, the ESKOLA is pleasantly light, keeping the journey to school comfortable even for small shoulders.
Apart from magnetic closures, thread, and straps, the ESKOLA is made from renewable raw materials: water-repellent organic cotton on the outside, wool felt on the inside, and vegetable-tanned leather on the edges and base—exactly where a school bag needs to withstand the most wear and tear during daily school life. Our goal is to increase this proportion to 100%. Every ESKOLA is sewn in our studio in Berlin and is built to last throughout the entire primary school years, after which it can be easily passed on to younger siblings. Nora originally designed it for her own daughter; today, it is our most well-known piece.

Interior
The interior is divided into three compartments. The rear compartment sits directly against the back, so the weight of books and notebooks is carried close to the body. This compartment is also made of water-repellent organic cotton, providing extra protection for notebooks and books. The main compartment has space for pencil cases, a lunch box, and a water bottle. In the front, there is a dedicated pocket for smaller items so they stay protected and are easy to find again.
There is a zippered pocket inside the flap for personal items. A carabiner hook holds the keys, and a webbing loop keeps the water bottle upright so nothing tips over or spills.
Comfort and visibility
The back panel and shoulder straps are padded, and the straps are length-adjustable. This ensures the ESKOLA sits comfortably throughout the whole school day. Reflective piping on the edges and on the front leather trim ensures that your child is clearly visible on dark winter mornings and afternoons.

MATERIAL & CARE
Organic Cotton
The organic cotton is a triple-twisted panama weave, woven and dyed in Germany and Italy. Originally developed for workwear, this fabric is robust and abrasion-resistant while still feeling pleasantly soft. It is treated with a PFC-free C0 finish that repels rain without the need for harmful chemicals. It is made for everything that daily school life brings with it.
Care: It is best to brush off loose dirt while dry. You can also simply pat out dust, just like with a cushion. Small stains can usually be removed with a slightly damp microfiber cloth, preferably without soap. For a more thorough cleaning, work a mild soapy solution (a mild shampoo or wool detergent works well) into the fabric with a soft brush and wipe down afterwards with clean water. This prevents soap residues from remaining in the fabric, which could otherwise leave marks. Blot the bag dry with a towel and let it air dry, keeping it away from heaters or direct heat.

The inner lining is wool felt from Italy, made from 75% recycled wool from New Zealand and 25% polyester. It gives the bag its shape, cushions the back, and is breathable. Wool balances heat and cold, keeping it comfortable against the back.
Care: The felt sits protected on the inside and does not require special care. If something does spill, dab the area with a damp cloth and let the bag air dry while open.

About once a year, the leather appreciates a natural, colorless leather wax or oil to nourish and protect it. Ensure that none of this gets onto the fabric, as it can cause stains.
